BA ANGELU YA MOYINDO

The Angelu ya Moyindo is a Carnival celebration of African American identity. Translated as Black Angels, Ba Angelu ya Moyindo is predicated and dictates the Carnival celebration as African ancestry through a parade tradition encompassing music, movement, and costumes.

Ba Angelu ya Moyindo represents strength, beauty, and wisdom.

Through the Carnival celebration, Ba Angelu Ya Moyindo,  we have shaped an artistic expression of communal language and identity grounded in survival, resilience, transformation, and joy! Tekrema’s Ba Angelu ya Moyindo connects past struggles to present progress as an euphemistic response to today’s social and political conditions that inspire activism. Tekrema’s public performance as a Carnival parade tradition encourages all to study, honor, and celebrate Black history as an ongoing, essential, and living part of the American story for all generations.
