Adult Contemporary Dance Class Series - VYIN DANSE!

Overview:

This is an open-level adult contemporary dance class series designed to explore and develop skills utilized in contemporary dance techniques. Each class will focus on a different aspect of movement within the genres. Celeste Mercadel, professional dancer, dance educator, and member of Tekrema Dance Theatre leads the series with youthful zeal and mature competency.

Class Series Breakdown:

• Breath and Body Awareness**

- July 10, 2024

- 6-7:30 pm

Emphasizing the importance of breath connection in dance, this program includes exercises that enhance body awareness and control, using breath to support movement and expression. 

• Contraction and Release

- July 17, 2024

- 6-7:30 pm

Exploring Graham and Horton techniques and learning how to use them to express emotions and add depth to movements.

• Floor Work

- July 24, 2024

-6-7:30 pm

Foundational techniques of floor work, transitions, grounded movements, and gravity. Learn to move efficiently and safely on the floor.

• Partnering

- July 31, 2024

 - 6-7:30 pm

Focusing on connections between dancers through weight sharing, and reactive movement exercises.
